Dear Friends,
We are sad to announce that Deer Hill Ranch has closed its doors. Since its founding in 1996, this non-profit organization has endeavored to offer a wide array of outdoor-oriented experiential learning programs for both children and adults. Along the way, we have made great friends and shared many fond memories together.
Since its inception, the founders of Deer Hill Ranch devoted their time, personal resources and most important their heart into making it a success. However, the constant cost infusions necessary to keep the programs running were too much to keep up with. This led to the sale of the Ranch. The new owners wanted the Deer Hill Ranch programs to continue and make their facility available to the non-profit after the sale. Under the new ownership of the Ranch, Deer Hill Ranch enjoyed a spring of field trips, birthday parties, farm field trips and ropes course programs followed by a summer of camps for little and not-so-little campers. Despite the reorganization, improvements to the Ranch and additional staff members, program expenses outpaced revenues generated, including foundation grants and individual donations. This was further aggravated by increases in insurance costs. This led the Board of Directors to decide to close the doors of Deer Hill Ranch.
We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the program participants, volunteers, staff and donors who made it possible for Deer Hill Ranch to provide programs for 12 years. We hope that those who were touched will continue to bring positive change to the world.
